For Service Providers eligible for rate reform, in January you will be receiving the last increase to align
with the rates models. That increase will be 90% of the rate model. In order for the increase to be
made whole (100%,) you must participate in the DDS Service Provider Directory. Beginning the
process to participate within the DDS timeframes outlined below should ensure the additional
10%. You will also receive an incentive payment. For service providers included in rate reform,
participation in the Provider Directory measures is the only way to attain the up to 10% quality
incentive portion of the reimbursement rate from January 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026.

If you are not eligible for rate reform, you can still receive an incentive payment for participating in the
Directory within the timeframes.

All vendored Service Providers should participate now!

Step 1
The first step is gathering information about all service providers that is accurate and categorized
consistently. DDS began outreach to service providers for data collection on July 15, 2024. Service
providers can still submit information by contacting the dedicated email at
mailto:providerdirectory@dds.ca.gov. The DDS website provides more information for service
providers about the data collection and how to access the technical support team. Recorded webinars
explain the project and instructions, and regional centers and service providers are encouraged to view
them using these links:
• Data Collection Information - https://youtu.be/Vtq159u6kZo
• Data Collection Step-by-Step Instructions - https://youtu.be/FfO2SXQ36-w.
Service provider organizations are asked to provide information about the controlling interest of the
entity including, but not limited to, contact information (email and phone), tax identification number(s)
for the controlling interest, and the associated vendor numbers for each tax identification number.
Service providers must complete their submission of their information by October 4, 2024.

Step 2- Service Provider Registration and Validation
The next step is service providers registering for the online portal and validating their information for
each vendor number, including contact information, address, and local human points of contact.
Approximately one week following completion of Step 1, service providers will receive an individualized
email invitation from caddsprod@servicenowservices.com to register for the Provider Directory and
review or update the information for accuracy. Once completed, service providers will have the option
to export confirmation of the completion of Step 2 for their records. Service providers that submit the
requested information by November 8, 2024 will be eligible for an incentive payment.

 BACKGROUND

The directory is a data collection effort (e.g.: tax identification and vendor numbers).  This work is underway with the assistance of the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) contractor, Protiviti.  These efforts concluded on August 30th.

  • If you are a vendored service provider and have not submitted information, there still is time.  Please see the survey link and call-in information on the DDS Provider Directory website page
  • Service provider organizations must update their data as part of a greater effort to clean up information and transition to the new statewide Provider Directory.

service provider will register for the online portal and validating the information within each vendor number, including contact information, address, and local points of contact.

Incentives for the Provider Directory

For January 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, there are fiscal incentives for service providers, depending upon how their current reimbursement rates relate to rate reform reimbursement rates.

One-time incentive payments

One-time incentive payments may be earned by all service providers that complete both Steps 1 and 2 by October 31, 2024.

Quality incentive payments as a portion of the reimbursement rate

Only for providers included in rate reform, reimbursement rates are established by two payment components— a base rate equaling 90 percent of the rate model and a quality incentive component equaling up to 10 percent of the rate model.  Service providers included in rate reform who have a current rate that is less than 100 percent of the full rate model, are eligible for the quality incentive component if they complete both Steps 1 and 2.  This is in addition to the one-time incentive payments mentioned above.

ARCHIVE : Service Providers: Incentive to help DDS Launch Service Provider Directory

Published Date: March 28, 2024

The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is actively developing an online statewide Provider Directory.  The Provider Directory will be developed in phases, adding features over time that will be useful to our community.  The first phase begins with gathering information about all service providers and verifying that the information is accurate and categorized in the same way. For Phase 1, only regional centers and service providers are able to access the directory to help enter and confirm data.  Future phases will focus on making the Provider Directory accessible to individuals and families. DDS will keep up all informed as we get closer to having a search function available to individuals and families. Since the Provider Directory is a new system and one that includes approximately 46,000 distinct vendored services, it will take time, but they will provide updates on the progress.

This is a big task and to be successful we need all service providers to participate!

  • Training will be available for service providers.
  • DDS will offer incentive payments to service providers through the Quality Incentive Program (QIP).
  • More information about the incentive payout will be provided in future communications.
  • We will rely on the Provider Directory information for future QIP activities, including payment for outcome and quality measures.
