Caregivers of People with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities and Alzheimer’s/Dementia

Is the person you are caring for experiencing behavioral changes?, changes in thinking?, changes in ability to self-care? Join this support group to share your experiences & resources and provide support to one another. 

This group meets the 1st. & 3rd Wednesday of the month from 4-5PM

1ST MONDAY OF THE MONTH: The East Los Angeles Family Resource Center hosts a Play Group for parents who have small children, ages 0-3. Parents who have a disability are strongly encouraged to attend as well.  For complete details, please view the flyer.

2ND WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH: The East Los Angeles Family Resource Center hosts a support group for parents who have children with challenging behaviors. This support group is for parents who have children under 13 years of age. View the flyer for further information and to learn how to contact the FRC.

2ND WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH:LGBT Support Group for Clients with Special Needs. The Koch-Young Resource Center at Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center has a support group for clients who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and those who question their sexuality.

3RD TUESDAY OF THE MONTH: Family Resource Center (FRC) Chinese Language Parent Support Group. Meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month! View the flyer in Chinese.

EVERY SATURDAY: Sibshops! This is a group for children who have a sibling with a developmental disability. They will play games, eat snacks, and just hang out with other kids who have similar experiences. For more information, please view the flyer.  View the flyer in Spanish.

ONGOING: Parent Support Group Therapies Facilitated by CARE, Inc. These support groups will allow parents to learn new tools for interacting with their children/teens, meet other supportive parents, and gain needed resources. ONGOING: The Thaddeus Foundation Spiritually-Based Groups. The Thaddeus Foundation offers spiritually based classes and groups, such as "Big Hearts Little Hugs" a support group for parents in San Dimas.
