Tools used to assist persons with disabilities improve quality of life and offer provision of information, training, and technical support are considered Assistive Technology (AT). AT fosters greater independence for persons with disabilities by enabling them to perform tasks that they were formerly unable to accomplish or had great difficulty accomplishing. There are many types of AT tools and resources.
