Welcome to the ELARC Self Determination Local Volunteer Advisory Committee Page. Per WIC 4685.8 (x){1,}, “Each regional center shall establish a local volunteer advisory committee to provide oversight of the Self-Determination Program…the committee shall review the development and ongoing progress of the Self-Determination Program…” ELARC’s Self Determination Local Advisory Committee meetings are open to the public and provide an opportunity to learn more about the Self Determination program.  


The Next Meetings for the Self Determination Local Volunteer Advisory Committee:

At this time, meeting will be held virtually.  All meetings are normally from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Self Determination Orientation Part 2 / 2da Parte de la Orientación de Autodeterminación

Self Determination is a service delivery system available to all who qualify for Regional Center Services. This program allows for individuals to have more authority and freedom in how their services and supports are planned and implemented. Self Determination was developed as a voluntary alternative to the traditional way of providing regional center services.

To learn more about this program or to start the process, join our orientation! The orientation is separated into 2 parts.

Part 2 on May 16th, 2024, from 9:00am to 12:00pm will cover:

  • A review of the budget,
  • The Spending Plan,
  • The Financial Management Service (FMS),
  • Rights & Safety, and
  • What are the next steps to get you started with Self Determination. 

*You need to attend Part 1 before attending Part 2*

*If you want to enter into the program, taking the Orientation is required*

    La autodeterminación es un sistema de prestación de servicios disponible para todos los que califican para los servicios del centro regional. Este programa permite que las personas tengan más autoridad y libertad en la forma en que se planifican e implementan sus servicios y apoyos. La Autodeterminación se desarrolló como una alternativa voluntaria a la forma tradicional de brindar servicios de centros regionales.

    Para conocer más sobre este programa o iniciar el proceso, ¡únete a nuestra orientación! La orientación se divide en 2 partes.

    La parte 2,  el 16 de Mayo de 2024, de 9:00 a. m. a 12:00 p. m.,  cubrirá:

    • Una revisión del presupuesto,
    • El Plan de Gasto,
    • El Servicio de Gestión Financiera (FMS),
    • Derechos y seguridad, y
    • ¿Cuáles son los próximos pasos para comenzar con la autodeterminación? 

    *Debes asistir a la Parte 1 antes de asistir a la Parte 2*

    *Si deseas ingresar al programa, es necesario realizar la Orientación*
