HCBS are services and supports that are provided to individuals with developmental disabilities in their community, home or a homelike setting instead of a hospital-like setting. The HCBS Final Rule ensures that individuals are provided with choices, rights, opportunities and integration using a person centered approach.
All service providers must be in compliance with the HCBS Final Rule by March 17, 2023. However some programs require that service providers deliver HCBS compliant, person centered services now or before services are approved. Learning Objectives:
