Weekly Service Provider Discussion: Emergency Regulations for Alternate Service Delivery

The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) released proposed emergency regulations for "alternative service delivery.” A 45 day comment period will be in place once the emergency regulations are adopted and before any permanent regulations are proposed. According to the DDS, "...the proposed regulations authorize alternative service delivery for nonresidential services and specify requirements for service provider reimbursement. The proposed emergency regulations allow service providers to be creative and resourceful in providing services to consumers, with an emphasis on safety and minimizing the impact of COVID-19 to the consumer."  Some requirements regarding the July 17, 2020 directive that was reviewed in the ELARC Focus Group on August 14, 2020 will change as a result of these emergency regulations!  Because information is still developing ELARC invites all service providers to join in this weekly discussion in order to stay informed and work together.
